Campervan Layout

In this feature, we are going to take a look at the many layouts of campervans. Before we start, this is only a quick guide, so make sure you do your research. We could include motorhome layouts, but that is for another subject. In this article, we are going to focus on Campervans.
One of the crucial decisions when looking for your campervan is choosing the right layout. The layout significantly impacts your comfort, space utilization, and overall experience. Let's explore some popular campervan layouts to help you find the perfect fit for your adventures. You will be surprised that there is more than just one layout. The best place to walk around the different van layouts is one of the UK’s biggest camping shows, The Caravan, Campervan & Motorhome Shows at the NEC Birmingham.
Standard Fit Layout:
We start with the standard fit layout. This layout is a popular choice for many VW campervans, which are being built in other models. Ford and Citroen are now doing the same layout. It typically features a side kitchen unit with a sink and hob, a rear seat that converts into a bed, and storage units strategically placed throughout the van. The standard fit layout offers a good balance of living space and functionality.

Rear Kitchen:
The next layout is the one that most people forget about: the rear kitchen. It features a fully equipped galley kitchen in the rear with the same features as the standard fit with a few extras. A toilet and a long-wheelbase van with this layout sometimes have a rear shower. The seats are at the front of the van which fold down to make two single beds or with extra cushions, a double bed.

U Shape Lounge:
This is a layout that we don’t see very often. The rear of the van has a sofa that raps around the back of the van in a U shape. The table sits in the middle and when removed can make a flexible sleeping arrangement, as the seating can often be converted into a comfortable bed. This makes them a versatile option for both daytime activities and nighttime rest. The kitchen is at the side like the standard fit layout. This layout gives you more room to relax in the evening. There are plenty of cupboards under the U-shape sofa.

By carefully considering these factors and exploring different campervan layouts, you can find the perfect home on wheels for your adventures. Remember, the right layout will enhance your travel experience and create lasting memories on the open road. Set a budget and stick to it. Campervans can vary in price.
Don't forget to research specific models and compare features before deciding.
Happy travels!
