Blackmore Camping & Caravan Club - Malvern
From the Blackmore Campsite there are stunning views over the Worcestershire countryside and views across to the Malvern Hills. We booked a hardstanding pitch with electric. This was a perfect site for us because we had planned to go to The Malvern Motorhome and Campervan Sale, (bit like a show) which was on over this weekend.
Friday
We headed from our home to the Malverns in Worcestershire to enjoy a day at The Motorhome & Campervan Sale. Held at the Three Counties Showground at the foot of the Malvern Hills. This was a show to discover the freedom that the motorhome and Campervan lifestyle can offer to you. There were many top name dealers all showing off their new vans, motorhomes, campervans and even American RV's. The shopping was something I was looking forward too. I can hear my credit card crying in my wallet when I wrote this. It was great to browse the spacious outdoor accessory market and look at the thousands of must-have camping essentials, outdoor clothing, electrical items, awnings, gadgets and more. It was nice to look at the new vans, take a tour of the latest motorhomes, Campervans even American RV's. I was told by the sales guy, I would be able drive it on my Grandad licence, thanks. I must look old. There were plenty of people wearing masks and even a whiff of sanitised hand gel was in the air.
From the Malvern Showground we headed to Caravan Stuff 4 you. They have a huge range of accessories and spares for caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents. The lovely lady who looks after their Twitter account invited us to come and visit them, so on the way to the Campsite we popped in to see them and we received a great welcome.
www.caravanstuff4u.co.uk If you need anything for your van, this is the place to go. They have everything from awnings to toilets.
After a good look round and a nice chat with the staff, we travelled just a few miles down the road to the Camping & Caravanning Club Blackmore campsite.
We had a great welcome from the staff at Blackmore campsite. Arriving
on site was a little different than normal due to the social distancing. On arrival we had to remain in our vehicle until a member of staff checked us in and showed us to our allocated pitch. All set up and we had a walk around the site to check out the toilet and shower blocks which were open, but closed at times due to cleaning. I must say they were spotless, never seen a campsite toilet block so clean. And we have stayed in many campsites. After a dog walk we sat outside having a lovely meal and a few glasses of wine. What a better way to end a great day. Oh, and a bit of telly.
Saturday
We woke up to a cloudy day but we didn't mind, it wasn't raining so we were happy. After a lazy breakfast, lovely shower. We set off after coffee for a walk from the campsite. If you stay at this site try this walk. It's lovely, not very long only three miles. You can see some lovely countryside, even the odd cow. Who didn't look very happy to see us. https://my.viewranger.com/route/details/MTIyOTUx
Back at the site after something to eat, time to relax with a cup of tea and a good read. And a bit later a beer with our tea. Ending the day with a wander around the campsite and a bit of TV in the campervan.
Sunday
Woke up to rain in the morning, which isn't a good thing when you have to pack up. Rain didn't last long and the sun came out. The good thing about this site is that we didn't have to check out till 12pm. Which is great, most campsites these days you have to leave at 10am. It meant that we could take our time getting ready to leave. After a late breakfast, quick shower and a coffee we set off for a dog walk. There's a dog walking area that goes all the way around the site. We left at 12pm and travelled home via the pretty town of Upton-Upon-Severn. Feeling a bit sad to leave, we knew that our next break will be soon.
