Woodside Country Park - Ledbury Herefordshire

We have been coming to this amazing campsite for over twenty years now and every time we arrive here it just gets better and better. I should be keeping this place quiet and not telling too many people because it’s so nice and we just want to keep it to ourselves and not tell too many people. This is just (to us) the most amazing place to come and stay. Not because of all the facilities that are available, just because of the most amazing landscape that’s been designed by the owner Ken Davies. This was Ken’s dream to build this site and he’s done just that. It’s a family run campsite and two wardens John and Angela, who have been here ever since we have been coming. Woodside have won many awards from the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award, and they have won this every year since 2005. The Honey Bee Friendly Park Award,  The Wildflower Award and you can see this in this beautiful campsite of over 28 acres of landscape and conservation area. There are many water plants, trees and shrubs that have been planted together with many varieties of wild flowers. Benches and picnic tables are nestled around the area beside pools, waterfalls and the big lake where you can if you like, go wild swimming. On your visit you will see butterflies, damselflies, rabbits, herons and even a kingfisher. You can even walk around their very own woodland area where they do have a few camping pods to hire. And they are very nice, I know this because we stayed in one a few years ago. We love this place because it’s one of those campsites where you can just turn up and relax. Pack enough food and drink to last you to entire holiday and you can just relax and chill out.

Campsite Review

Woodside Country Park is a beautiful campsite that we have been coming to for over 20 years. Set in 25 acres of amazing landscaped grounds of woodlands and lakes. Even wild swimming in the big lake in Cider Mill field and fishing. It's a campsite for a relaxed peace and tranquil holiday or weekend. There are two campsite fields Orchard field and Cider Mill field, both with 16amp electric hook-ups. Each fields got it's own toilet and shower block. Fresh and waste water points. There is a small shop in the reception and is run by a very friendly family and two lovely wardens Angela and John. Who have been there ever since we have been going there.

The site also caters for non campers with log cabins, a bunkhouse and camping pods to stay in if your not the camper type. The site is open for Caravans. Motorhomes, Campervans and tents of any size.

We telephoned a few weeks before to book a pitch, Helen took our call and remembered us from coming before. You can book online if you wish but we had a few questions we wanted to ask, and Helen put our minds at rest and answered our questions. We felt nothing was too much trouble. We always get a great welcome when we arrive at Woodside, the family are so nice. Because of Covid, check-in was a little bit different this time. You drive to the field that you have booked onto, we booked onto the Cider Field. There was a telephone number we had to call to let reception know we had arrived. Checked in, picked our pitch and given some info on the campsite, but seeing we have been coming for over twenty years, we know where everything is. Because of social distancing things were a little bit different. We booked an electric pitch, the good thing about this site is it's 16amp and that's great for all those electrical items that just make camping a bit more luxury. All set up, a walk around the site and a relaxing weekend planned.
